The Muktad prayers are held after a Zoroastrian has passed away. It is believed that these prayers aid the departed's soul on its journey through the afterlife. These prayers can be conducted for any Zoroastrian who has died; it is usually performed in the weeks leading up to Navroze.
At this stage of Agiary Connect, we can only offer Shenshai Muktad prayers (held in mid-August of 2024). In addition to sending the deceased's name, please submit a picture of your loved one. For 10 day and 18 day orders we will make sure flowers and food (typically three-four meals a day) are provided. The food will be donated to a local Zoroastrian orphanage, widows' chawl, sanitorium or to less fortunate members of the community.
